I’ve finally been convinced that this blogging lark is the new rock and roll.
As soon as I discover what happened to the old rock and roll, I’ll let you know.
In the mean time, don’t expect much ‘blogging’ activity until after the weekend.

Now, if you could just be convinced to add a multi-user blog module to IPB 2, we could really dance to your music.

Matt
There will (most likely) be a blogging module for IPDynamic.

..zapper
@TheWalrus, I heared that there are some performance problems using EE with some ‘popular’ weblogs. So @Matt there is a market!

Matt, before you go too far in implementing a blogging module for IPDynamic, consider integrating the module directly in IPB. I’ve gone to mod’ing my IPB to have a “blog” forum type which simply displays a topic in the forum as a “blog”. Replies are separated into “entries” (replies made by the bloggers) and “comments” (replies made to an entry). I copied and modified topic_linear.php (and mod’ed topics.php) so a blog topic will display like a blog. It isn’t quite finished, but it does feel nicely integrated so far. This approach should only take a few days at most to implement.
If you do make this an IPDynamic module, it would be nice to fully integrate it in the forums. Really, a blog isn’t that much different from a forum topic except for presentation and terminology.

I was just wondering how long you have had this company for?
August 22, 2004 at 12:27 pm
Dr. Bongoots
In reply to M´s question about the company. At least since 13 Feb 2002. That was the day that I (http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showuser=66) registered. You can see that I was only the 66th person to register, but could easily have made it into the top five.. if only I recognised that the bloody image was clickable!! (cheeky Matt :p)
It was only days before that when Matt and Charles left *that unmentionable company* and the majority of the staff and community followed like the good sheep we are to the original site of IBForums.com (opened on 13 Feb 2002) and were all confused about the name (iBoard (iB)? IBForums (IBF)? lol). Memories I´ll never forget

A blogging module would be excellent. I´ve tried other blogging scripts, but they suck. The one on my site is supposed to be the best, but is so hard to use that I did a posting or two and gave up. Shouldn´t a blog be all about just posting your blog entries? Why does someone need a huge interface with all the bells and whistles? It just makes it tough to manage and enter the necessary stuff. Hopefully you´ll make it just like you do for everything else: Sexy, easy-to-use and simple to control
