So, I picked up my Sony PSP today (yes, in the UK we get things decades behind the rest of the world – today was release day) and I’m really pleased!
The build quality is superb – it really reminds one of Apple’s hardware. All glossy surfaces and neat engineering. The screen is beautiful and…
… oh, heck – screw this, I’m off to play some more.

It sucks, Nintendo DS is so much better for gaming. The only reason it’s so popular is because it’s trendy.
Stop being such a troll Lewis.
I was one of the impatient ones who imported a PSP, I feel it was one of the better buys i’ve made in my life. I enjoy playing it and now I can get a new god damn game!
The PSP 2.00 update (included with UK machines) makes it so much better.
The Mozilla Web Browser almost makes it worth the money alone. It’s a very capable mobile web browser that does a great job of rendering normal web pages very quickly indeed.
It found my Airport connection instantly.
I found it odd that the “value pack” didn’t include the USB lead. At least now with the UK release I can buy one and finally be able to update.
Not had a chance to look at mine yet really but it looks fab! Can’t wait til after work to have a play. Thank you for getting me one too :*
@Wilko: You don’t need a USB cabe to update, just use the network update.
My Palm Tungsten USB cable did the trick.
If you’ve got a digital camera, try the cable from that before forking out for a new one – it might just fit.
Matt, congrats on the purchase. I’ve had mine since the week it came out, and I really enjoy it.
As for the cable, it’s a Mini USB to USB so if you have a digital camera lying around then you should also have the cable.
Wow nice, I just wished I had a good amount of income to be able to get one.
At least tell us what games you’ve got, Matt
Is the Ridge Racer any good?
The new web browser kicks butt. I was totally surprised at how well it worked!
Hey matt, if you wanna swap a game i’ve got Spiderman 2, not my kin of thing
Spiderman 2 came free with the PSP
Hah, your PSP better not keep you from coding IPB.
I’ll probably get one when I get my student loan and if any are left.
