Now, this is going to be a very short and contentious entry:
The Microsoft xbox 360 is amazing. What’s more amazing is xbox live. Games which you’ve completed still get a spin in the drive thanks to online gaming. Call of Duty II is a brilliant single player game - but it’s even better when played with other humans across the internet.
Now, it’s about now that Sony Playstations stalwarts (Rikki) start telling me that PS3 will be awesome, and the xbox360 is really just an xbox 1.5.
Yes, yes - that may all be true, but it doesn’t stop the xbox from rocking.
I have an LG HD LCD on order too. I couldn’t resist it. My bank manager thought I should.

Me, a PS3 stalwart? I think you’ve misinterpreted what I’ve said to you Matt :p In fact, I think the PS3 is setting itself up to be the flop of this generation because Sony execs are focussing too much on using it as a trojan horse to get Blu-ray into homes, and not enough on making it a good entertainment system.
If I’m a fanboy of any of them it would be Nintendo :p
The reason I don’t like the 360 (and this is with no experience of owning and playing one) is I don’t think some nicer graphics are worth the money. A new generation of console should, IMO, bring something new to games. The 360 seems to be same old games, but with prettier pictures.

Call of Duty 2 is a great game and when you find a good non laggy online game its even better.
I think its 5 max players before it lags. The new patch sounds promising though.

Rikki - it’s hard to describe what “next gen” means. Was the SNES next gen to the NES? By definition it must have been.
To me, “next gen” simply means the xbox 360, PS 3 and what ever Nintendo are going to create. They are the next generation of consoles to replace the PS2, xbox and Gamecube.
Anyone who doubts the power of “fancy graphics” should play “Fight Night 3″ on a HD TV. It takes your breath away. No longer are you controlling animated sprites on a TV screen - you’re actually controlling a real pugilist in a real match. It’s totally immersive.
