I picked up a Sony Ericsson k800i a week ago and I’m really impressed with it.
The biggest draw is the 3.2 megapixel camera which comes with autofocus, image stabilizer and a built in xenon flash. It’s capable of taking some pretty sharp pictures. It actually gives medium to low end digital cameras a run for their money.
Better yet, you can stick in a memory card micro to extend the phone’s meagre 64mb memory. With a full quality picture weighing in at around 700k it’s not long before you need one. Fortunately they retail for around £20 on eBay which is where I got mine.
Sony Ericsson have teamed up with Blogger.com to enable you to blog right from your phone. Whilst it’s clear that “texting” a long blog is too much hassle, it does allow you to share your pictures immediately and easily. You simply select a picture, choose “Send > Blog” and fill in the title and the body and it resizes the picture and uploads it all via it’s 3G GPRS connection. I’ve got a mobile blog here.
It seems that Sony Ericsson are the new Nokia.

I’ve been trying to persuade myself to wait for a fancy wxxxi phone to come out (an updated SE w800i). Y’know, like the k750i is the non-walkman version of the w800i. So I guess they’re going to bring out a walkman one based on the k800i. But I don’t think I’m going to be able to resist temptation!! The w850i looks nice, but doesn’t have the same features as the k800i. and the w950i doesn’t have a camera (O_o) it’s touch screen and looks really good… but doesn’t have a camera… did i mention it doesn’t have a camera?! Yes, in today’s mobile world, a phone without a camera is just, weird (and worth mentioning 4 times)!
On the k800i, a quick question: does memory stick pro duo work with it? I have a 2GB one and if it doesn’t I’ll need to get a new 2GB one for the k800i, I think it uses the memory stick micro… which is gonna be expensive (I’d prefer 2GB (or more) of storage as I use it as an MP3 player as well as phone, e.g., instead of iPod or similar). </ramble>

It uses the micro stick. It’s tiny - slightly smaller than an adult thumbnail.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, I think I’ve just found myself a new phone. oO
My dad just got a Nokia 6265i phone. I was really impressed with the 2.0MP camera. But 3.2MP on this phone? Geeez.
Congratulations on the phone, anyways.

I got the blog stuff working ok. Problem started when I went to use the token that was sent - I selected my existing blog. Now, I can’t send to my blog (it stops part way through) and the blog that the phone set up now doesn’t exist and I can’t use the name to create one.
Anybody got any ideas on how to reset the target blog on the phone (K800i)
Thanks

hi, im having a problem with my k800i phone which i believed infected by a virus. the themes were fine but all the font contacts and messages were rearranged and diminished to letter c, a, b, e, d making all words unreadable .. Examples : phone contact will just appear ” oo a b e”, a whole text message will just appear ” a a c e be “
