Yuck – The band, not a reaction

September 1, 2011

I’m really enjoying a relatively new band from London called “Yuck”. I assume this was a reaction to other names band members suggested. Their sound hails from the 1990s and they really remind me of Dinosaur Jr and Belle and Sebastian. A few of my favourites from their recent eponymous album:

Easy Photoblogging with Flickr and WordPress

September 1, 2011

I used to have a Tumblr account which I used for off the cuff messages and photos. Tumblr is great but with each new service you sign up to, you further fracture your “life” stream. You put bits of content here, and other bits there. Sometimes there is overlap and sometimes there is not. I’ve [...]

9/11 + 10

August 31, 2011

I can barely believe that it’s almost ten years since 9/11. I still remember being at work before IPS was my full time job and hearing over the news that a plane had accidentally crashed into the world trade centre. Immediately Charles appeared on AOL messenger and we chatted as it developed. We ended up [...]

HP Touchpad – Update

August 31, 2011

Yesterday I received my 32GB HP Touchpad and after an hour or so, I wrote up my first impressions which were mostly good. The build quality was good and webOS had some very nice touches such as full multitasking and an intuitive way to browse open apps. I spent a little more time on it [...]

HP Touchpad – First Impressions

August 30, 2011

I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a HP Touchpad during their recent fire sale. I’m sure you’re all aware of how 42 days into the launch of their new ex-Palm webOS powered tablet HP pulled the plug and slashed the retail price for remaining stock. I haven’t had a lot of time [...]

August 25, 2011
evernote scan

Here’s a very quick tip if you’re using a Mac and you’re attempting to go paperless. You could use your scanner’s software to scan to a JPEG and then drag and drop that directly into Evernote but that’s a little time consuming when you have to do it a few dozen times. What’s more, if [...]

Evernote – Become more efficient and productive today!

August 24, 2011
evernote

I’m sure you’re like me. No, not really, really, ridiculously good looking; totally unorganised. I have paperwork stuffed into folders, stuffed into cupboards with heavy things moved in front to prevent the door from falling open. The back of my desk is a graveyard for lost post it notes. One day in the future an [...]

Good deed for the day

August 21, 2011

Good deed for the day: Debbie was driving around a roundabout towards traffic lights and saw a motorcyclist on the ground with the bike on it’s side. Realised it was a woman and she was struggling with the bike so I hopped out and picked the bike up. Bloody heavy bit of kit. I know [...]

Waiting for Superman

August 17, 2011

I love watching my three year old play. One minute he’s Spider-man slinging web and jumping from building to building and the next minute he’s superman flying high. He believes he is doing these things and that he has super powers. So why do we allow time and experience to take these things from us [...]
